Why I do this
I have spent most of my life on the mat. Jiu-jitsu and judo taught me that you can control another person without hurting them, and that the calmest person in the room usually has the most control.
Officers, prison staff and security guards are asked to do something very difficult: take hold of people who may be frightened, angry, unwell or intoxicated, and do it safely. Too often they are given very little training to do it well. When things go wrong, everyone pays: the person being restrained, the officer, their families and public trust.
I want to help change that. My aim is simple: fewer injuries, fewer complaints, and more people on both sides of an encounter going home safe.
What guides us
Dignity
Respect for everyone, including the person restrained.
Safety for all
Officers, public and participants.
Accountability
Aligned with law and human rights.
Evidence over ego
We measure results, not claims.
